James opened his eyes and found he'd curled onto his side into the night, Teddy behind him with an arm loosely draped over James's waist. He could hear Teddy's breath, feel it skimming over the back of his neck and wriggled happily into the sheets. It might technically have been Teddy's flat but James was there often enough that the sheets had picked up the smell of James's aftershave as well as Teddy's shampoo and minty shower-gel.
"Teddy?" James asked quietly.
Teddy didn't respond, not even a hitch in his breathing, and James huffed out a sigh. Teddy was wonderful – handsome, funny, sweet, dynamite in bed, and pretty much everything James had wanted since he was fourteen. (Except they didn't speak about that because it made Teddy feel guilty as though he'd been the one with an age-inappropriate crush.) The man's only downside really was that he was not a morning person. And James really was. He liked being awake as the sky got light, liked that quiet time when it was just the two of them. In all honesty James didn't like that so much, because he was not only a morning person, he was a horny morning person.
