Summary: When work takes it out of you, it's handy to have a boyfriend with lots of medicinal potions on hand.

When the Floo roars into life, James turns his head towards the fire and cracks open one eye to the welcome sight of Scorpius silhouetted against the flames. He reaches for him with one hand and Scorpius laughs, crosses the room and squeezes James's fingers.
"Tired?" he asks mildly, and James groans.
"Try exhausted to the point of almost-certain death," he suggests and Scorpius - heartless bastard - just laughs. "How was your day?" James asks.
"Terrible," Scorpius calls over his shoulder as he goes into the kitchen. "They're understaffed so I'm on the emergency ward all week. I miss the kids already."
Alright, not so heartless, James is forced to admit. He's training to heal sick kiddie-winks, for Merlin's sake. He's practically a saint. He's just ignoring James's increasingly exaggerated groans and sighs.
"You must have some interesting Potions," James suggests as Scorpius returns with a cup of tea, leaning against the doorframe to look at James, still sprawled on the sofa.
"All safely under lock and key," Scorpius nods. "It can't have been that bad, anyway."
"Was," James groans, rubbing the heel of his hand against the back of his neck, watching Scorpius disappear back into the kitchen
"Wandless Combat?" Scorpius calls. "You can pin someone in ten seconds."
"I can pin you in ten seconds," James corrects. "You're usually not trying too hard. Are you? I'd hate to hurt your feelings."
"Shut up, idiot," Scorpius says lightly, dropping a vial of potion onto James's stomach as he returns. "Drink that half an hour before you want to eat."
"You're the best," James says, reaching out to grab Scorpius's wrist and pull him down onto the edge of the sofa.
"Not sitting on anything wounded, am I?" Scorpius asks, and James shakes his head, closing his eyes blissfully as Scorpius's fingers start stroking through his hair. "Why don't you take your potion, then go and have a hot shower?" Scorpius suggests. "I'll deal with dinner."
"You sure?" James asks.
"Yes," Scorpius nods. "I'll even give you a back-rub after we eat if you're still sore."
"I will be," James promises, eyes wide with fake innocence.
"Back rub, Potter," Scorpius says. "Not foreplay."
"It's a fine line," James says seriously.
"It's really not," Scorpius says, amusement plain on his face in spite of himself.
"It is with you," James winks, grabbing Scorpius's free hand and bringing it to his lips, kissing the back of his knuckles.
"Flattery will get you nowhere," Scorpius says primly. "But do feel free to keep trying."
James laughs and squeezes Scorpius's hand, wincing as he pushes himself upright to give Scorpius a quick kiss.
"You really feeling rough?" he asks, looking concerned.
"Yeah, a little. I'm sure it'll be fine in a bit."
"Alright," Scorpius says. "Drink that," he says, nodding to the vial in James's hand. James nods and knocks it back obediently. "Shower now," he says, and James rolls his eyes.
"Bossy."
"You love it."
James has to admit, he probably does.

XD I think I know who would be the PERFECT baby (literally) 3-yr old reincarnation of James..I babysit him every week. He lives down the street with his siblings and hes just SO CUTE and mischievous and innocent and hilarious, just like I imagine a little James would be.
EXAMPLE: Today when I was over there, his mom told me that they were teaching him to potty-train & he's already got it down, but he gets rewarded with candy whenever he does it by himself.
So I see him running to the bathroom, sniffling, and I go see whats wrong. Hes there, sitting on his special toilet seat, sobbing quietly, and my heart just about breaks, when I ask him why he's crying and he goes, "I cant poop! I want candy but I cant go poop!" His mom yells from the other room, "Its not working, buddy!"
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAH XD Man, I love that kid. He's got these huuuuuuuuuuuge (humongous-like) big blue eyes with thick lashes and he's got down the James-pout. *squeezes*
